Today it is the largest community in Davis County (home to over 60,000 citizens), the site of Hill Air Force Base and a short drive from ski areas and other recreational activities.

School-community relationships
Improving the workforce and thereby improving the economy are integral parts of Broadview University's mission. The first public building in Layton was a log schoolhouse. Today our school offers the community valuable post-secondary career training alternatives.
Ties to the community directly affect our students' career training. Our program advisory committees are composed of area employers and professionals, who ensure we provide high-value skills training. Layton businesses and medical facilities welcome UCC interns and graduates, and instructors in technical courses at Broadview have experience in their fields.
Broadview University-Layton and Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #1699, one of Layton's largest employers, have forged a partnership to provide Wal-Mart employees with specialized career training programs for higher education degrees. The companies’ relationship will allow approved employees the opportunity to be awarded a Business Alliance Scholarship to the Broadview University in Layton, Utah.
