Medical Assistant National Certification Exam Prep

At Utah Career College, we focus on providing students in our Medical Assistant programs with practical, high-value skills. As graduates, they are prepared to sit for national Medical Assistant Certification exams and other certification tests, earning credentials that verify their skills. Contact us for detailed information.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam

A required course in the Medical Assistant Associate degree program and the Medical Assistant Diploma program at UCC is MA280, CMA Review. The course reviews clinical skills and professional development issues covered during previous coursework, and provides an opportunity to renew DPR-PR certification.

The CMA review prepares students to sit for the CMA (AAMA) Certified Medical Assistant exam offered by the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants). When a student passes the exam, he or she will be entitled to use the CMA (AAMA) professional national credential.

Other certifications for medical assistants

Radiography Technologist Certification

Medical assistant graduates may also choose to sit for the ARRT Limited Scope Radiography Technologist certification exam, and upon passing may apply to the Utah State Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing for licensure as Radiology Practical Technicians.

Coding, MEDISOFT, Phlebotomy, CPR certification

Upon successful completion of required Medical Assistant courses, students receive or are prepared to sit for exams leading to a MEDISOFT Certificate, a Certificate of Entry Level Proficiency in Coding, a Certificate of Entry Level Proficiency/Phlebotomy and a Professional Rescuer Level CPR Certification.
