Accounting and Taxation
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting and Taxation provides students with a thorough understanding of standard accounting and tax practices. Through lectures, discussions, hands-on practice, case studies, and other activities, students will master the skills needed to succeed as an accounting practitioner.
The Accounting and Taxation program will provide students with knowledge and skills sets in the following areas:
• Financial accounting
• Payroll accounting
• Managerial accounting
• Accounting software
• Personal taxes
• Business taxes
• Small business management
In addition, students will complete courses in communications, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences which are designed to develop essential academic skills for enhanced and continued learning.
Graduates will be prepared for entry level positions as:
• Bookkeepers
• Accounting and auditing clerks
• Financial clerks
• Payroll clerks
• Bill and account collectors
• Tax document preparers.
